The Ollas Jamet used by the city of Tours

The newspaper “La Nouvelle République” highlights the use of Ollas Jamet by the municipality of Tours for a solidarity garden.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, agents of the city of Tours installed around fifty Ollas Jamet in the Vikings Gourmet and Solidarity Garden, near the Cathedral.

The vegetables that grow in this garden (aromatics, tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers, etc.) will be given to people in need via partner associations in the city or social centers.

The municipality had already selected our products for a test near the Olivier Debré Center for Contemporary Creation. Convinced by their effectiveness in terms of water saving, ease of irrigation (only one filling every 15 days) and benefits for plants (no water stress), the City of Tours has chosen to deploy the Ollas in this solidarity garden.

Mariana Peigné, head of the Green Heritage service in the city of Tours, wants to generalize this experience in the city's 5 other gourmet and solidarity gardens, to produce vegetables in a more ecological way.

Thank you to the city of Tours for choosing the Ollas Jamet and thank you to Pierre Veillé, Journalist at the Nouvelle République for highlighting this great initiative in favor of biodiversity.
