    Benefits for individuals and professionals

Keep a cool and airy substrate:

    • Very gentle watering from below results in soil not saturated with water.
    • The substrate will be moist just enough to have a rich biological activity (bacterial and microbial) which gives soils favorable to the development of plants without fertilizers and / or mechanical action of the soil because very aerated by microbial life.

Mix low to high water-intensive plants in the same area:

    • Water-hungry plants will seek the complement by root suction.
    • The porosity of our Ollas will be sensitive to this mini pressure and will perfectly irrigate the requesting plant without drowning the non-demanding plant.

Major benefits for plant health and vitality

    • Biomass increase of at least 250% (noted by Astredhor Pays de Loire) and depending on the type of plant / soil / climate / frequency of watering, compared to watering by sparkling, drop by drop and watering can.
    • Leaves not wet, less risk of disease by oomycetes .
    • No stress or water suffering.
    • If tap water is used, the chlorine has time to evaporate.
    • Deep and homogeneous root development
    • Better plant nutrition with more minerals and trace elements.
    • Better plant health (more vigorous and disease resistant).
    • Better nutritional, taste and organoleptic qualities for edible plants.
    Advantages

    Simplicity and comfort of use:

    • Easy installation and use, accessible to all. Plant an Ollas Jamet ORIGIN® like a plant, then fill it with water.
    • No time constraints for watering.
    • Control of watering: Optimum quantity of water for the well-being of the plant without excess.
    • No need for specific knowledge, with instant water level control.
    • Adapts to the climate and the needs of the plant, without the need to intervene to make adjustments to the irrigation system.
    • Self-regulation of water conductivity and evapotranspiration.
    • Reduction in the presence of mosquitoes, because no watering and humidity from above
    • Maintenance: None.

    Savings:

    • 50 to 75% less water consumption and watering frequency, depending on the type of soil and plants with a 2.5 times higher biomass compared to other watering systems (Sparkling, Drip, Watering can…), proof of the well-being of plants. (Astredhor technical partner report for oceanic / temperate climate)
    • If we were to compare a biomass, irrigated by Sparkling, Drip or Watering can, identical to that carried out with Ollas-JAMET®, the water saving would be 130% and the frequency of watering 180% at a minimum (ratio of the technical partner Astredhor).
    • 50 to 80% less fertilizer when diluted in Ollas-Jamet.
    • Filling time, 3/8 times faster than conventional watering from above. Or even more, with the Ollas Jamet SPELEO collection depending on the number of Ollas connected in series

    Very high durability:

    • Guaranteed against frost (see wintering). Leave the Ollas Jamet ORIGIN® empty during the winter, the ceramic will not burst, even in very cold weather. Tested for more than 10 years in France and recently without problems in Canadian winters…
    • Resists the acidity of soils with low PH and the pressure of tree roots.

Little or not sensitive to limestone:

    • Amateur and professional market gardeners who have been following us and using Ollas Jamet ORIGIN® for more than 6 years in the Charentes department (16), (water among the most calcareous in France), have not yet noticed a significant reduction in porosity.

    Measurements by ASTREDHOR

The water and time savings provided by Ollas-JAMET® have been measured by the independent technical center ASTREDHOR Pays de Loire 49, (National Association of Horticultural Experimentation and Demonstration Structures) under the influence of an oceanic climate / temperate.

Irrigation tests, (6 months in 2020), by the Ollas Jamet have shown compared to other irrigation systems (Sparkling, Drip, Watering Can, etc.), the following results:

    • 250% increase in biomass
    • Proof of the well-being of plants irrigated by Ollas-JAMET®
    • 56.52% decrease in water consumption
    • 64.29% reduction in labor / watering frequency
    • Decrease in hooping (weeding) noted but not measured

Under an even warmer climate, the difference in biomass increase will be even greater.

    * Data are average estimates and vary depending on the nature of the soil type and plants. Variation between clay/sandy soil +/- 20%

In your garden projects, we advise you to address these priority points to optimize your irrigation according to:

    • Type of soil : Sandy or vegetal soils which are draining or clay-limestone which retains water. The variation difference will be +/-20%
    • Plants in the ground/bed or in tubs/pots indoors or outdoors : With the last summers, the substrates of plants in tubs/pots very often exceed 50°C when they are positioned outdoors on urbanized surfaces.
The substrates used for indoor plants retain less water than the ground and are subjected to a drier environment all year round. So plan the autonomy accordingly, because of a stronger evapotranspiration...
    • Autonomy and radius of action required : See the table of technical characteristics. When the available space allows it, always put the upper model for the benefit of autonomy
    • Type of plant : All varieties except for cereal and turf crops. Ornamentation or market gardening, shrubs, young, adult or secular trees
    • As an indication : A medium-sized Ollas-JAMET® n°5 of 9L has an autonomy of 11/13 days and 2 m² of irrigation surface

    Instructions for use / installation

    • Make a hole the size of the chosen Ollas
    • Wet the hole and water the soil around it, as for a plant. To be done once, only during installation. This makes it possible to quickly start the water conductivity of the Ollas action zone.
    • Put the Ollas in the center and bury it up to the pass
    • Recommendations: Put around the Ollas a mixture of soil and compost, make a mulch to optimize the effectiveness of the Ollas and limit evaporation.
    • Fill the Ollas with water, water the soil around it and place the lid of the Ollas
    • At the end of the season (during wintering) we advise not to fill the Ollas except for citrus fruits and plants placed under cover.
    • Positioning: The spacing between the Ollas and the plants to be irrigated depends on the size of the Ollas, its radius of action (see the table of characteristics), the climatic conditions and the type of soil.
    • Example: for a medium-sized Ollas No. 4, the spacing varies between 50 cm (sandy soil) and 80 cm (clay soil) and up to 2.5 meters for creeping crops.
    • Think that the roots always point towards the wet zone
    • Increase the volume of the Ollas for a very dry climate, a soil favoring the natural flow of water and/or plants requiring a lot of water.
    • Decrease the volume of the Ollas for a temperate climate, soil that retains water, and plants that don't need a lot of water or are intended for xeriscaping.
    • The Ollas-JAMET® are not afraid of frost, it is not necessary to remove them from their location. Do not fill them at the beginning of winter
    • However, in the event of severe and continuous frost, do not fill or leave large quantities of water in the Ollas. Put on the protective hat to prevent the cold from entering more intensely.
    • For optimal safety against very cold weather, cover them with mulch.

    Models used n°1, 2, 3 and 4

To have room to house the Ollas between the edge of the pot and the plant, do not hesitate to cut roots. The roots will reform on the Ollas and thus optimize the efficiency.
