    Jamet worm composter

    Ceramic worm composter

    VERMICOMPOSTER-JAMET®

The Vermicomposter-Jamet ® is buried in planters, vegetable plots or in the ground.
Design designed in collaboration with master composters for optimal operation.

    Principle of operation

    • Vermicomposting (or vermicomposting) makes it possible to transform kitchen waste in a worm composter with worms into an ecological fertilizer (worm compost) and also to produce an organic liquid fertilizer (worm juice / worm tea).
    • You bury the worm composter up to the neck in the ground, or in the planters/vegetable plots near your kitchen
    •  Lift the lid, add your green waste and close the lids... And let the earthworms do the work!

Composting: a legal obligation from January 2024, good for the environment!

From January 1, 2024, each household must be equipped with an individual or collective composter or ensure the collection of organic waste.

Organic materials represent between 25 and 30% of the weight of our household waste. Until now, there was a tendency to bury them or burn them in an incinerator, even though each household could reduce them upstream. This measure should make it possible to considerably reduce the quantity of waste sent for incineration and therefore reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Faithful to its desire to innovate with ceramic products with high environmental value, Poterie Jamet offers a range of worm composters and as well as models of tiered worm composters.

For optimal use of your LOMBRICOMPOSTEUR-JAMET®, here are our installation and use tips:

    1. Bury the worm composter up to the neck in the ground, or in planters/vegetable plots near your kitchen, to make it easier to use.
    2. When the worm composter is not in the ground, add worms (from 100g to 1Kg) depending on the model chosen.
    3. Lift the lid, add your green waste and close the lid…
    4. Waste freshly deposited on the surface is first attacked by bacteria, fungi, springtails and mites.

    5. Then, the worms eat the residue of this first decomposition. They will feed as long as there is food for them.

    6. The degradation of green waste will release the water it contains. Thus, it is not necessary to water the waste from the worm composter for it to function properly because it will always be sufficiently humid, and sometimes too much.
