    Tiered worm composter

    Ceramic worm composter

    LOMBRICOMPOSTER-JAMET® with one floor

The two-story worm composter-Jamet ® is the modular and scalable solution for communities, schools as well as large families.

Its base is installed in the ground and these different levels allow you to benefit from a large capacity worm composter.

Design designed in collaboration with master composters for optimal operation.

    Principle of operation

    • You bury the base of the worm composter up to the neck in the ground. The latter is equipped with holes to let worms pass through.
    • You can then choose the number of modules needed, including an extension and a cover.
    • You therefore have a worm composter of up to 75 liters!
    • Then, lift the lid, add your green waste and close the lid… And let the earthworms do the work!

Composting: a legal obligation from January 2024, good for the environment!

From January 1 , 2024, every French citizen will be required to actively participate in the management of biowaste such as peelings, eggshells, leftover meals, tissues and expired products without packaging.

In accordance with the law of February 10, 2020 relating to the fight against waste and the circular economy, known as the anti-waste law, this initiative aims to promote these often neglected organic materials.

Organic materials represent between 25 and 30% of the weight of our household waste. Until now, there was a tendency to bury them or burn them in an incinerator, even though each household could reduce them upstream. This measure should make it possible to considerably reduce the quantity of waste sent for incineration and therefore reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Faithful to its desire to innovate with ceramic products with high environmental value, Poterie Jamet offers a range of worm composters and as well as these models of worm composters which are perfectly suited to the needs of communities, schools, etc.

    Advantages

*Entirely handmade craftsmanship. Minimum dimensions and liters

For optimal use of your LOMBRICOMPOSTEUR-JAMET®, here are our installation and use tips:

    1. Bury the base of the worm composter up to the neck in the ground
    2. When starting, you can add worms (up to 1KG, to speed up the process).
    3. Lift the lid, add your green waste and close the lid…
    4. Waste freshly deposited on the surface is first attacked by bacteria, fungi, springtails and mites.

    5. Then, the worms eat the residue of this first decomposition. They will feed as long as there is food for them.

    6. As decomposition progresses, the worms will move up the column to collect the new decomposing waste.
    7. The degradation of green waste will release the water it contains. Thus, it is not necessary to water the waste from the worm composter for it to function properly because it will always be sufficiently humid, and sometimes too much.
